Spring is here. Pollen is here. Sneezing is here. Ringnecks are...well...you know...doing it - must be all that passionfruit I feed them. Give me a break, they are at "it" day and night, so we definitely should get some fertile eggs soon. And the female of the breeding pair is now giving me growls each time I go near the cage to change their seed or water. Gotta be a sign of nest protecting. Anyway lets hope her eggs arrive safe and she is a good mother with them.

Warm, wet, furry muzzle is currently resting on my leg, because I have cheese. Like I never feed the mutster. Must be hungry after 10 swims into dam for giant stick retrieval. Must video that one day.

FEED ME .... damn you woman

On the topic of spring activity a visit to top shed to hook up the sprayer yesterday afternoon, was rudely interrupted by a massive screeching squawk. I looked around to see another pair at it on window ledge....again?.....too much detail.

So totally distracted by the sight, (that's my excuse) I went ahead to hook up the sprayer, and merrily set off down the hill to the bottom shed to fill up sprayer tank. I thought on way something wasn't quite right, but didn't realise exactly what. Upon reaching the main water fill up point, I jumped down to see the problem. The jokey wheel was still in place. FAAARRRKKKKKK. I said in a very nice way.

So the next hour (it was 4pm when I went to top shed) was spent trying to get the jokey wheel straight so I could get it off. With the sun setting behind me and much cussing , kicking, and swearing aloud one hour later, saw a triumphant whoop as I successfully reversed the Lamborghini onto the jacked up 1000L Silvan sprayer. Many a helpful garden paver saved the day. I was exhausted but had learnt a valuable lesson....don't get distracted by public parrot pornography.
Never to be defeated I was totally determined to fix the problem I had caused. And I did.

The end to that story is a successful day of spraying starting on the Saturday morning and not the night before as I had originally planned. Up with the sparrows (and those rude parrots) to start before sun came up. It was a beautiful fresh morning too. Foggy - you beauty. This meant the dew would cling to leaves until well after sunrise, thus giving the trees a big foliar, nutrient boost. It took 3 hours to complete the lower orchard. Then Sunday morning bright and early again, saw the top orchard done, less 5 rows for tonight...sun is setting and I want to sleep in tomorrow folks.
