Wet, wet and more wet. That pretty much sums up this week. Rains have finally arrived again on the farm. Not sure how much as yet, but it has rained every day for a week, with all of next week predicted to be the same. And its raining again right now. So with that in motion, best thing for a rainy Sunday morning is to write up this blog. And with rain tanks full and swimming pool increased by a good 12 inches, irrigation pressure is way relieved.

With rain also came storms last week. And a severe hail storm hit the west of Gympie. Thankfully (and I truly mean that - THANK GOD) it did not hit the Chatsworth region, which is where my farm is located. Hail will destroy a macadamia crop, severely damage trees as well as cause local flash flooding as hail melts. Sadly a fellow macadamia farmer west of Gympie lost 90% of their crop for next year. I pray again to the harvest queen - keep the hail away from my farm. I feel for the strawberry farmers; nothing left.

So with wet weather settled in for the week all we could do then was catch up on KNF work, fill the last of the nut orders by hand and generally engage in Foxtel binging. Seriously though its so wet the Ute has slid off the main road down near bottom shed, and is bogged in long wet grass and mud....thank goodness for tractors. But that isn't a major issue and can wait until the ground dries out a bit before we attempt a rescue mission. Was fun sliding around though!

In the meantime this week saw the farm finally get its boundary secured, with a bespoke dog proofed fence across the front of the farm. Solar panelled electric gate (to go in next week), but for now the dogs are happily walking the perimeter, unable to venture off onto the road that the farm borders. It was a great job to watch unfolding, as the Fencing Contractor and his team go stuck in to levelling ground and ripping out all the old tree stumps along front of property. Looking pretty shmicking good! So good lets have a look at it with some pictures!
